Selsun Specialized Shampoo reduces itching, flaking, irritation, and redness of the scalp. Selenium sulfide is also used for a condition that causes discoloration of the skin (tinea versicolor). This medicine is used in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis, which is a skin condition that affects the scalp characterized by itchy and red scaly patches.
Directions to Use
- Massage hair with bland soap and rinse. Massage 1 or 2 teaspoonful of shampoo into scalp using warm water to lather.
- Allow shampoo to remain on scalp for 2-3 minutes. Apply twice weekly for two weeks.
